A dated, running log of Indian car price events — hikes, cuts, facelift repricing, launches and discontinuations — each verified against the manufacturer's site plus a second source before it's recorded. Latest entry: Skoda Slavia, 9 October 2026. Updated with our weekly verification cycle (October 2026).
October 2026
Skoda launched the Slavia facelift on 6 October at ₹10.00–18.84 lakh ex-showroom (from ₹10.00–18.29 lakh), adding a Classic+ trim (₹10.99 lakh manual, ₹12.49 lakh 8-speed automatic) and raising other variants by ₹35,000–60,000; the 1.5 TSI DSG Monte Carlo tops the range at ₹18.84 lakh — confirmed by Skoda's official price tool, CarWale and Autocar India.
Honda launched the Elevate facelift on 6 October at ₹11.80–18.40 lakh ex-showroom (from ₹11.81–16.98 lakh), adding new ZX+ (₹16.80 lakh manual, ₹18.30 lakh CVT) and ZX+ Black (₹16.90/18.40 lakh) trims with ventilated front and rear seats and a 360-degree camera, while the ADV Edition and ZX Black Edition are no longer listed — per Autocar India and ZigWheels.
The Maybach S-Class facelift launched on 5 October as a single S 580e plug-in hybrid listed at ₹3.20 crore ex-showroom by Mercedes-Benz India and CarWale (launch reports quoted ₹3.35 crore); the V8 S 580 (₹2.88 crore) and V12 S 680 (₹3.47 crore) are no longer offered.
Skoda's October increase lifted Kushaq prices by up to ₹20,000: the range is now ₹10.69–19.19 lakh ex-showroom (from ₹10.69–18.99 lakh), and a Sportline 1.5 TSI DSG at ₹16.99 lakh joins the line-up — Skoda's official price tool and CarWale agree on every variant.
The Kodiaq's top trim is now sold as the Selection L&K (₹46.99 lakh, unchanged) rather than Laurin & Klement, per Skoda's official price tool and CarWale; Lounge ₹36.99 lakh and Sportline ₹44.99 lakh are unchanged.
BMW India no longer lists the 330Li M Sport 50 Jahre (₹60.60 lakh) or 320Ld M Sport Pro (₹61.50 lakh), so the 3 Series LWB now starts at ₹62.70 lakh for the 330Li M Sport, with the 320Ld M Sport at ₹64.20 lakh — bmw.in and CarWale agree.
We added the CLA 250+ AMG Line (₹60.50 lakh) and CLA 250+ Launch Edition (₹64.00 lakh) electric variants, lifting the range to ₹56.50–64.00 lakh ex-showroom — Mercedes-Benz India's configurator and CarWale agree.
We added the C 300 at ₹67.00 lakh ex-showroom, listed by both Mercedes-Benz India's configurator and CarWale; other C-Class prices are unchanged.
We added the GLS 450 4MATIC Night Edition (₹1.405 crore) and GLS 450d 4MATIC Night Edition (₹1.427 crore), lifting the range to ₹1.375–1.427 crore ex-showroom — Mercedes-Benz India's configurator and CarWale agree.
We added the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro at ₹3.80 crore ex-showroom, listed by both Mercedes-Benz India's configurator and CarWale; the range is now ₹2.90–3.80 crore.
Mercedes-Benz India now sells the S 450e as the Launch Edition (₹2.20 crore) and Manufaktur Edition (₹2.38 crore, previously listed as AMG Line); prices are unchanged — configurator and CarWale agree.
Kia raised Sonet prices by about ₹4,000 (1.2 petrol) to ₹27,000 (diesel, including July’s increase that we had not yet carried): the range is now ₹7.45–14.36 lakh ex-showroom, from ₹7.41–14.09 lakh, with the GTX Plus diesel automatic at ₹14.36 lakh — confirmed by Kia’s official price tool and CarDekho.
Renault launched the Triber 1.0 turbo-petrol (about 100 hp) on 28 September in three manual variants — Evolution Turbo ₹7.85 lakh, Techno Turbo ₹8.54 lakh and Emotion Turbo ₹9.00 lakh — lifting the range to ₹5.81–9.00 lakh; non-turbo prices are unchanged (Renault India and CarWale). The turbo CVT and turbo-CNG have not launched yet.
Corrected the Audi Q3 Technology to ₹53.00 lakh from ₹52.31 lakh per Audi India’s official price list and CarWale; Premium (₹43.67 lakh) and Premium Plus (₹48.19 lakh) are unchanged. The current-generation car is in run-out ahead of the new Q3’s 16 October launch.
Added the BYD eMAX 7’s cheaper Premium trim with a 55.4 kWh battery — Premium 6S ₹26.90 lakh and Premium 7S ₹27.50 lakh — lowering the starting price from ₹27.90 lakh to ₹26.90 lakh; Comfort and Superior prices (₹27.90–29.90 lakh) are unchanged (CarWale and CarDekho).
Renamed the Audi A6’s ₹64.81 lakh entry variant from Premium to Premium Plus, as listed by Audi India and CarWale; prices (₹64.81–71.66 lakh) are unchanged.
September 2026
All EVs (Uttar Pradesh road tax)
Reversed yesterday's Uttar Pradesh EV change: UP EVs are exempt from road tax, not taxed at 9–11%. The EV policy amendment of 17 October 2025 and the Transport Commissioner's order no. 264 of 5 November 2025 extend the exemption to pure EVs purchased and registered in UP from 14 October 2025 to 13 October 2027 (strong and plug-in hybrids excluded). The 'made in UP only' reports we relied on predated that amendment. Lucknow and Noida EV prices are back at 0% road tax — ₹13,13,450 for a Tata Nexon EV. Petrol, diesel and CNG rates (9%/11%) are unchanged.
Corrected our Telangana road-tax slabs to G.O.Ms.No.53 of 13 August 2025 (in force 14 August 2025): 13% up to ₹5 lakh, 14% up to ₹10 lakh, 18% up to ₹20 lakh, 20% up to ₹50 lakh and 21% above, with no fuel distinction. We were carrying older 12/14/17% slabs, which understated every Hyderabad petrol, diesel and CNG on-road price — by ₹43,640 on a base Hyundai Creta. EVs remain exempt until 31 December 2026 (G.O.Ms.No.41).
Corrected our Kerala road-tax slabs to the Finance Act 2025 rates (w.e.f. 1 April 2025): 10% up to ₹5 lakh, 13% up to ₹10 lakh, 15% up to ₹15 lakh, 17% up to ₹20 lakh and 22% above, per the Kerala MVD's tax schedule as on 1 April 2025. We were carrying the superseded 9/11/13/16/21% slabs, which understated every Kochi petrol, diesel and CNG on-road price — by ₹21,820 on a base Hyundai Creta. EV slabs (5/8/10%) were already correct.
Corrected Karnataka's road-tax cess from 11% to 10% of the tax (s.3A(1) of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act; the extra 3% cess applies to transport vehicles only), giving effective rates of 14.3/15.4/18.7/19.8% on petrol, diesel and CNG cars. Our 17 September EV correction had omitted the cess entirely: EVs now carry an effective 5.5% up to ₹10 lakh, 8.8% up to ₹25 lakh and 11% above (Karnataka Act 29 of 2026), adding ₹9,992 to a Bengaluru Nexon EV. EVs above ₹25 lakh have been taxed since March 2024 (Karnataka Act 12 of 2024), not April 2026 as that entry said.
All cars (Uttar Pradesh road tax)
[EV part superseded 29 September 2026 — UP EVs remain exempt; see the later Uttar Pradesh correction.] Corrected our Uttar Pradesh road tax to 9% up to ₹10 lakh and 11% above, per the transport department's notification of 21 April 2025, for all fuels. UP's blanket EV road-tax waiver lapsed on 13 October 2025 and the November 2025 replacement covers only EVs manufactured in UP, so EVs now pay the same rates — we had been showing them at 0%, understating Lucknow and Noida EV on-road prices by ₹1,37,390 on a Tata Nexon EV.
All cars (Madhya Pradesh road tax)
Corrected our Madhya Pradesh road tax to the rates in M.P. Act 19 of 2019: petrol and CNG 8% up to ₹10 lakh, 10% up to ₹20 lakh and 14% above; diesel 10/12/16%. The 100% EV waiver lapsed on 26 March 2026, so EVs pay the statutory 4% — we had shown 1%, understating Indore and Bhopal EV on-road prices by ₹37,470 on a Tata Nexon EV.
EVs above ₹30 lakh (Delhi road tax)
Corrected Delhi EV road tax: under the Delhi EV Policy 2026 (Delhi Gazette, 30 June 2026, in force 1 July 2026), only electric cars up to ₹30 lakh ex-showroom are exempt, until 31 March 2030. EVs above ₹30 lakh pay the full 10% — we had shown 0%, understating a Delhi BMW i5 by ₹7,96,000.
EVs and CNG cars (Haryana road tax)
Corrected Haryana road tax: since the 28 July 2026 notification, EVs up to ₹30 lakh are fully exempt and those above get a 50% exemption (5%), and factory CNG cars get a 20% rebate (4/6.4/8%). We had shown all EVs at 0% and CNG at full petrol rates — overstating a Gurugram CNG Ertiga by ₹14,240 and understating a BMW i5 by ₹3,98,000. Reported by Tribune, Autocar India and ANI; the notification text itself is not publicly reachable.
Corrected our Tamil Nadu EV road tax to 0%. Tamil Nadu's full road-tax exemption on electric cars runs until 31 December 2027 (G.O. Ms. No. 674, 29 December 2025); we had been charging EVs the petrol slabs (12-20%), which overstated every Chennai and Coimbatore EV on-road price — by ₹2,24,820 on a Tata Nexon EV (now ₹13,13,450 in Chennai). All Tamil Nadu EV pages have been recomputed.
Tata launched the Aeris on 25 September 2026 as the facelifted, renamed Tigor, at introductory prices of Rs 5.29-9.19 lakh ex-showroom (petrol manual Rs 5.29-8.19 lakh, CNG manual Rs 6.29-9.19 lakh), down from the outgoing Tigor's Rs 6.00-9.50 lakh; six airbags are now standard. Prices confirmed by Autocar India and CarWale; Tata has not yet announced AMT prices, and the Tigor nameplate is retired (CarDekho marks it discontinued, Tata's Tigor pages redirect to the Aeris).
Mahindra launched the three-door Thar facelift, sold as the Thar OG, on 22 September 2026 at introductory prices of Rs 10.32-18.99 lakh ex-showroom (valid for deliveries until 30 November 2026). It adds a new top ZXT trim (Rs 13.99-18.99 lakh) above the AXT and LXT, whose prices are unchanged, plus a new platform, electric power steering and a stronger 2.0 turbo-petrol; Mahindra's own price list, CarWale and CarDekho agree on all 15 variants.
Introductory pricing on the XEV 9S has ended: it now costs Rs 20.65-30.15 lakh ex-showroom without a charger (up from Rs 19.95-29.45 lakh), or Rs 21.40-30.90 lakh with the 11.2 kW AC charger; six-seat versions have been added. Confirmed on Mahindra's price feed and CarWale.
The facelifted Slavia's full price list is now live on Skoda's own price tool and CarWale: Rs 10.00-18.29 lakh ex-showroom across 10 variants, adding Sportline and Monte Carlo trims and an 8-speed automatic on the 1.0 TSI, and dropping Signature+. The range is essentially unchanged from the outgoing car; the Signature 1.0 TSI manual moves from Rs 12.20 to Rs 13.44 lakh.
Corrected from Rs 47.00-49.00 lakh to Rs 36.99-46.99 lakh. Skoda now sells a five-seat Lounge at Rs 36.99 lakh below the seven-seat Sportline (Rs 44.99 lakh) and Selection L&K (Rs 46.99 lakh); our old figures were wrong on both existing variants. Skoda's price tool and CarWale agree.
Corrected from Rs 9.80-11.20 lakh to Rs 8.49-9.99 lakh ex-showroom (B4 to the new top B8); our figures were stale, and the Bold Edition rows we carried are no longer listed by Mahindra or CarWale.

Corrected the top price from Rs 31.30 to Rs 30.50 lakh: our old top included the optional AC charger while our base did not. The consistent charger-free range is Rs 21.90-30.50 lakh, and the Pack Two 79 kWh (Rs 26.50 lakh) and Cineluxe Edition (Rs 29.35 lakh) are now listed. Confirmed on Mahindra's price feed and CarDekho.
Top price moves from Rs 21.29 to Rs 21.59 lakh ex-showroom with the new Dark editions, and the variant table is rebuilt to 57 rows including the new Smart+ L, Pure L, Pure L(O), Pure+ L and Adventure+ L trims. Tata's price list and CarWale agree.
Range now Rs 12.49-17.89 lakh ex-showroom (top: Dark and Red Dark editions), and the ladder is revised: Creative 30 is now Creative+ 30, Fearless+ 45 is gone and Creative 45 (Rs 14.34 lakh) and Empowered 45 (Rs 16.34 lakh) are new. Tata's price list and CarWale agree.
Range now Rs 21.79-30.54 lakh ex-showroom across 18 versions, with new Adventure S, Fearless+ AWD, Empowered RWD and Empowered Stealth versions and every trim also offered with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger (about Rs 50,000 extra). Our old Fearless+ 75 price (Rs 26.70 lakh) was wrong; it is Rs 25.29 lakh. Tata and CarWale agree.
Top price now Rs 26.48 lakh ex-showroom: we now list each trim both with and without the 7.2 kW AC fast charger (about Rs 49,000 extra), consistent with how we list the Harrier EV. Base unchanged at Rs 18.79 lakh; Tata and CarWale agree.
Corrected from Rs 10.50-19.50 lakh to Rs 11.12-12.98 lakh ex-showroom: the Carens is now a single Premium (O) trim with manual petrol, petrol-CNG and diesel versions, while the fuller line-up with automatics and top trims sells as the Carens Clavis (Rs 11.39-21.79 lakh). Corrected from Rs 63.90 lakh to Rs 59.65 lakh ex-showroom for the single Limousine Plus variant; Kia's price feed, CarDekho and CarWale all agree.
Range unchanged at Rs 11.00-21.82 lakh, but four variant prices were wrong in our table: HTX IVT is Rs 17.22 lakh, HTX (A) IVT Rs 18.32 lakh, GTX Turbo DCT Rs 19.52 lakh and X-Line (A) Turbo DCT Rs 20.00 lakh. Kia's price feed and CarDekho agree.
Maruti added CNG AMT versions of the Dzire, the VXi CNG AMT at Rs 8.53 lakh and ZXi CNG AMT at Rs 9.54 lakh, which lifts the top of the range from Rs 9.41 to Rs 9.54 lakh ex-showroom. Maruti's price feed and CarDekho agree.
Maruti added three CNG AMT versions of the Swift, the VXi CNG AMT (Rs 7.92 lakh), VXi (O) CNG AMT (Rs 8.18 lakh) and ZXi CNG AMT (Rs 8.86 lakh); the range is unchanged at Rs 5.84-8.89 lakh. Maruti's price feed and CarDekho agree.
Completed the facelifted Baleno's variant table with the Delta CNG AMT (Rs 8.32 lakh) and Zeta CNG AMT (Rs 9.32 lakh); the range stays Rs 5.99-9.99 lakh. Nexa's price feed (new M-series codes) and CarDekho agree.
Corrected from Rs 11.82-20.55 lakh to Rs 11.99-21.36 lakh. We had missed the 22 May 2026 City facelift, which renamed the ladder from V/VX/ZX to SV / V / ZX / ZX+, and a price hike on 11 September 2026 (up to Rs 35,900; a uniform Rs 20,800 on petrols). The Rs 21.36 lakh top is the ZX+ e:HEV strong hybrid — note the City Hybrid e:HEV is no longer a separate model, it is now a City trim. One variant is held back for review: sources split on the ZX+ CVT (Rs 16.47 vs Rs 17.36 lakh), so we have left it out rather than publish a number we cannot two-source.
Corrected from Rs 8.10-11.20 lakh to Rs 7.65-10.00 lakh — a large drop because our figures predated the September 2025 GST 2.0 rate cut. Honda's own site, CarDekho and CarWale agree to the rupee on all six variants (base Rs 7,65,400). Honda also took a hike of up to Rs 15,210 on 15 September 2026, which held the base but lifted higher trims.
Corrected from Rs 11.99-16.86 lakh to Rs 11.81-16.98 lakh, with the variant table rebuilt to twelve two-source-confirmed rows including the ADV Edition and ZX Black Edition. No facelift has launched — the Elevate facelift is still a test mule, currently reported for 6 October 2026.
Corrected from Rs 7.00-10.00 lakh to Rs 6.73-9.99 lakh across nine variants, with CarDekho and CarWale identical on every row. Short shelf life on this one: the Glanza facelift lands on 14 October 2026 with the new Z12E three-cylinder engine and Level 2 ADAS, mirroring the Baleno facelift.
Corrected from Rs 10.40-13.90 lakh to Rs 9.79-14.21 lakh — wrong at both ends. Toyota added a new entry-level E variant on 6 March 2026, which is why our base was about Rs 60,000 too high, and the V AT now tops the range at Rs 14.21 lakh.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor
Corrected from Rs 7.70-13.00 lakh to Rs 7.43-12.94 lakh across twelve variants, confirmed identically by CarDekho and CarWale. Last price movement was 22 April 2026 (up to Rs 24,000).
Corrected from Rs 19.90-26.80 lakh to Rs 19.72-26.63 lakh. The 2026 Crysta facelift launched on 4 June 2026 with a new grille, bumper garnishes, dual-tone leather, a wireless charger and TPMS, on a four-trim GX / GX+ / VX / ZX ladder that we have now rebuilt. Note Platinum White Pearl is a Rs 14,000 paint option, not a variant, so we do not list it separately.
Corrected from Rs 19.20-32.60 lakh to Rs 19.53-31.84 lakh. Both of our old endpoints were artefacts: the low base came from a fleet-only G trim that retail buyers cannot order, and the Rs 32.60 lakh top from a limited edition that CarDekho now marks expired. Rs 19.53-31.84 lakh is the range both aggregators agree on for cars a private buyer can actually walk in and order.
Corrected from Rs 48.00-49.50 lakh to a flat Rs 48.69 lakh. Toyota raised Camry prices by up to Rs 1.27 lakh on 15 September 2026, and there is genuinely no Rs 49.50 lakh top variant — the Elegant and the Sprint Edition Dual Tone are priced identically, with Platinum White Pearl adding Rs 20,000 as a paint option.
Added the Maruti Victoris to the catalogue at Rs 10.50-19.99 lakh across 35 variants. It actually launched on 22 September 2025 as Maruti's Arena-channel midsize SUV — a year-old coverage gap on our side, not a new launch. Prices confirmed three ways against Maruti's own Arena pricing API, CarDekho and CarWale, which agree row-for-row. It is the rare car holding 5 stars at both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP, and the only midsize SUV sold with mild-hybrid petrol, S-CNG, a Toyota-derived strong hybrid (28.65 kmpl claimed) and AllGrip AWD.
Corrected from Rs 46.05 lakh to Rs 55.71 lakh. Hyundai launched the Ioniq 5 facelift on 28 April 2026 and we were still carrying the pre-facelift car. This is a generational change, not a price hike: the battery grows from 72.6 kWh to 84 kWh, claimed ARAI range from 631 km to 690 km, and output from 214 bhp to 225 bhp. Confirmed by Hyundai's official price API, CarDekho, CarWale and Autocar India.
Corrected from Rs 14.00-23.00 lakh to Rs 11.99-19.50 lakh. MG has dropped the 2.0 diesel entirely — the Hector is now turbo-petrol only (143 PS) — and renamed the ladder to Select Pro / Smart Pro / Sharp Pro / Savvy Pro. Our old top figure was a diesel variant that is no longer sold. Verified against mgmotor.co.in and CarWale, which agree exactly.
Corrected from Rs 10.00-17.50 lakh to Rs 9.79-15.30 lakh. The 1.3 turbo-petrol has been discontinued and the whole range is now the 1.5L VTi-TECH NA (110 PS), so nothing exists above Rs 15.30 lakh any more. Verified against mgmotor.co.in and CarDekho, which agree to the rupee.
Corrected from Rs 17.49-21.00 lakh to Rs 16.19-20.21 lakh. To be clear about the direction: this is NOT a price cut by Maruti. Our stored figures appear to have been pre-launch expected pricing that was never corrected after the February 2026 launch — the only real price move since has been an increase on 22 June 2026. Nexa's pricing API, CarDekho and CarWale all agree on Rs 16.19-20.21 lakh.
Corrected from Rs 10.85-13.80 lakh to Rs 11.62-14.57 lakh. Maruti has added an Alpha+ trim and replaced the old 4-speed automatic with a 6-speed torque converter, taking the ladder to nine variants. We could NOT confirm a facelift launch event — treat this as a variant and powertrain update; the XL6 facelift itself is still reported for late 2026.
Corrected from Rs 11.90-13.55 lakh to Rs 12.54-14.67 lakh. No facelift and no new variants in India — our data had simply missed more than one revision, including a uniform Rs 7,500 hike across all six variants in June 2026. CarDekho and CarWale agree exactly on all six prices.
Corrected from Rs 4.70-6.20 lakh to Rs 4.70-6.75 lakh. A ZXi+ AMT has been added above the ZXi+ manual, lifting the ceiling. Confirmed by Maruti's Arena pricing API, CarDekho and CarWale line-for-line.
Corrected the top price DOWN from Rs 5.45 lakh to Rs 5.27 lakh. Our Rs 5.45 figure was in fact the Alto K10's top price — a copy-paste error rather than stale data. The S-Presso range ends at the VXi+ (O) AMT at Rs 5,27,400, agreed by Maruti's API, CarDekho and CarWale. The Alto K10 top was corrected separately from Rs 5.32 to Rs 5.45 lakh.
No price change — the 5 September 2026 facelift is holding its Rs 5.99-9.99 lakh launch band across all 11 variants. One naming correction applied: every variant Maruti previously badged AGS is now badged AMT (Delta AMT, Zeta AMT, Alpha AMT, Alpha (O) AMT), confirmed on CarDekho's price page and both CarDekho's and Autocar's launch coverage.
Maruti has launched a flex-fuel Wagon R ZXi+ BioFlex at Rs 7.24 lakh, an E20-to-E85-capable 1.2L costing about Rs 85,000 over the petrol ZXi+. We have deliberately NOT raised the Wagon R's headline range above Rs 6.97 lakh: multiple sources report the BioFlex is currently sold for commercial use only, so quoting it as a consumer 'up to' price would mislead private buyers.
Corrected from Rs 11.50-19.50 lakh to Rs 11.00-19.30 lakh. Our data predated the 14 April 2026 facelift, which added a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital cluster and refreshed styling, and which split the top tier into GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport. CarWale, CarDekho and Autocar India agree on all eleven variants.
Corrected from Rs 11.50-19.50 lakh to Rs 10.71-19.20 lakh. The new top variant is the Virtus Anniversary Edition launched on 6 August 2026 at Rs 19.20 lakh, and the ladder runs to seven trims (Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus, GT Plus Sport) rather than the six we carried. Verified against volkswagen.co.in, CarWale and Autocar India.
Corrected from Rs 49.00 lakh to Rs 47.11 lakh. Volkswagen India publishes Rs 47,11,013 for the sole Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI 4MOTION, and CarWale and CarDekho both agree. Hyundai Verna, Exter, Venue (variant renames)
Hyundai has publicly renamed three trim ladders to its new HX scheme and we have rebuilt all three variant tables to match. Verna is now HX 2 to HX 10 (was E/S/SX/SX(O)), Rs 10.99-18.46 lakh. Exter is HX 2 to HX 10 after its 20 March 2026 facelift (was EX/S/SX/SX(O)), Rs 5.81-9.65 lakh. Venue's top rises to Rs 15.83 lakh — our Rs 15.65 figure was the non-dual-tone HX 10 diesel AT, a mid-ladder row rather than the true top. Both CarDekho and CarWale use the new names, so these are market-facing renames that buyers will search.
Hyundai i20, Aura, Grand i10 Nios

Worth knowing when comparison-shopping: mgmotor.co.in leads with BaaS prices that EXCLUDE the battery (Comet EV from Rs 4.99 lakh plus Rs 3.20/km, Windsor from Rs 9.99 lakh plus Rs 3.99/km), which is why MG's headline numbers look so much lower than everyone else's.
