Car Resale Value & IDV — Computed, Not Guessed
Two honest numbers exist for what a car is worth as it ages: the IDVyour insurer must use (fixed by IRDAI's schedule — 5% depreciation under 6 months, rising to 50% at 4–5 years), and the market-wide average — cars lose 21% by year one, 33% by year three and 41% by year five per the Autocar India–Spinny Used Car Study 2026 (11,000+ transactions, 9 cities). Every page below computes the first from our verified prices (September 2026) and cites the second. Rupee-exact "predictions" for a specific car don't appear here, because nobody can honestly make them.
